The focus today continued to be reducing Leif's sodium level. It is dropping very slowly - but moving in the right direction. And the medical staff is still suctioning thick secretions out of his lungs regularly. He is having an MRI scan of his head tonight. No results will be available until tomorrow.
He was moved into the Cardio-Thoracic bay of the SICU today. Which is where the staff primarily responsible for his care are located right outside his door. He had been in a general surgery bay until this bed was available.
The family brought his favorite CD's for him to listen to... and he rested more today as the music played.

I appreciate the timeyou take to keep everyone informed of Pastor's condition. Otherwise I would be wondering all the time what was going on.
There is so little one can do for you and your family at this time, but if there is anything I can do I would be more than happy to do it.
Since I practically live "at your backdoor" maybe there is something you need one at your house.
Pastor is so well known in Muscatine, everyone I meet asks me how he is doing. They are all praying. Bonnie Doering Carl has put him on the prayer list at her Lutheran Church in Oxnard, CA, Betty Maisenbach has done the same at her church in Green Valley , AZ, Also Pastor Peter Maisenbach at Trinity Lutheran in Spencer, IA as are most of the churches in Muscatine.
Everyone is very concerned.
PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF THERE IS ANYTHING AT ALL I CAN DO.
I am in Iowa City often so if you need anything brought up...I can deliver it to you.
Remember that Steph would be happy to let you use her home and extra 2 bedrooms.
