Leif had a comfortable day. He received steroids for the swelling in his throat and the sedating medication was totally eliminated. He was more alert and responsive than he has been since going on the ventillator. He nods and shakes his head in response to questions and even teased Jennifer by wiggling his thumb as she tried to trim his nails. He is essentially breathing on his own with just a bit of help from the vent. The vent tube will be removed tomorrow afternoon.

Mrs. Pohl, you might remember you came out of ICU at Unity to visit with me about Pastor. I am a long-time friend of Leif (and a member of Zion)and want you to know my prayers continue for him and family.

Just wanted to let you know that Leif has been in my prayers and will continue to be. Jen you are doing a beautiful job with the web site - you could be a journalist, you write in very clear sentences and make each word work. Jan, what a comfort to have such talented children to set all of this up. You and Leif made a great family but then you already knew that didn't you? My love to you all. Carol
